What is a healthy relationship?

A relationship is healthy when we can say what we like, what we do not like, what we want, what we do not want. You have to be able to set your limits, and your partner must respect them.
A couple can define together what is healthy for them. If something bothers you, you must be able to say it and be heard.
When only one member of the couple can give their opinion, decide on activities, friends to see, how the other should behave, talk or dress, then the relationship is no longer healthy.
If you ask yourself questions about your partner’s behavior and you feel locked up in your relationship, this is surely a sign of imbalance.

Learn how to build a romantic relationship:

Communication:

Everyone says it; communication is the key to a healthy relationship. We must talk about our emotions, say loudly our sorrows and anger and especially not be afraid to say good things to revive the flame from time to time.

Boundaries:

Everyone should be able to express to their partner what is bothering them about their sexuality, family, friends, finances, personal space and time. In a healthy relationship, everyone:
• Allows the other to spend time with friends and family
• Do not “flick” the activities and outputs of the other
• Trust the other and do not demand that he/she is accountable
• Do not force the other person to do things he/she does not want
• Do not constantly accuse the other of lying or misleading
• Do not blame others for their wrongs

Comfortable pace:

If you do not feel safe in your relationship, then there is a serious problem. If your partner scares you with excessive behavior, for example, this relationship is not healthy.

Sexual relationship:

Whether you are the type to make love once every two weeks or every day, the important thing is that your partner and you have the same desires. If you get along well, then everything is perfect. Otherwise, it is possible that there are some small adjustments to make.

Trust:

Obviously, to be happy in your relationship, it is important to trust the other. Jealousy is sometimes a feeling that can not be controlled, but it must not be justified. Trusting each other is the basis of a strong relationship.

Respect:

It is possible to not always agree. Chicanes are part of romantic relationships, yet it is necessary to be able to communicate and argue with respect. If one or the other party does not respect his partner … Then it can quickly degenerate.

Accepting differences:

In the early days of the meeting, this difference attracts us, intrigues us. But once the euphoria has subsided, it can irritate us. The peculiarities of the other can annoy us simply because it does not work like us, especially in the case where the couple lives together.

Friendship:

If this sounds strange, a couple needs a real friendship to work. An affection and complicity that goes beyond mere passion. Once the intensity of the beginnings has subsided, it is this deep understanding that allows a couple to last, to love each other differently and to overcome periods of crisis. Like two friends, we must be able to take advantage of what brings us together and not let what opposes us interpose.

Happiness:

For some, being in a relationship is not synonymous with happiness. It is normal not always to be happy in your professional or personal life, but for your couple to be sustainable, you must at least find happiness in your relationship.

Independence:

Being independent does not mean to stop answering each other’s text messages or to ignore them. You just have to find a balance between your life as a couple and your life as an individual. If you want to spend an evening with your friends, but your partner strongly opposes it, then maybe he/she does not leave you enough space to grow as an individual.
